The DKS DoorKing 1602-987 is an industrial-grade LED and Reverse-Sensing Edge Kit specifically engineered for the DoorKing 1602 Series automated barrier gate operators.
Made to install on the 1602-287 27-foot octagonal aluminum wishbone gate arm. It combines high-visibility traffic signaling with physical entrapment protection.
- Dual-Color LED Signaling: When the gate arm is lowered, the integrated LED strips glow solid red to command arriving traffic to stop. Upon receiving an authorized open command, the LEDs transition to green, explicitly indicating when it is safe to pull forward.
- Contact-Based Obstruction Detection: The heavy-duty reverse-sensing edge runs along the underside of the arm. If the descending arm strikes a vehicle or pedestrian, it automatically triggers the gate operator to reverse to the fully open position.
- Complete Installation Package: The kit ships with all foundational electrical and mounting hardware, including the required LED/Reverse edge strips, power transformer, wiring harness, and cable grips.
- UL 325 Safety Compliance: Adding this secondary safety device directly satisfies stringent commercial and industrial requirements for motorized gate safety and impact mitigation.
